The new route is LATAM’s first since entering its joint venture deal with American carrier Delta Air Lines.
LATAM Brasil has declared its 1st international route as part of its new joint venture deal with American carrier Delta Air Lines. Beginning July 23, LATAM will fly directly from São Paulo’s Aeroporto Internacional de Guarulhos (GRU) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

From next year July 1st, 2023, LATAM Brasil flight from São Paulo to Los Angeles 3 times weekly. No other airline connects the West Coast of the United States with Brazil, though airlines like Varig, Korean Air, Japan Airlines, and American Airlines have done so in the past.

The new route is LATAM Brasil’s 1st new international route since the start of the COVID pandemic and its 5th American destination. passengers flying on the new route will have easy access to Delta’s West Coast destinations and flights to Asia.

LATAM and Delta
Tickets are available for the route through all points of sale. The newly declared service to Los Angeles is the 1st route declared as part of the joint-venture deal between LATAM and Delta, which was approved in September 2022. Though this is the 1st time LATAM Brasil will fly to Los Angeles, the airline group currently operates flights to Los Angeles from Santiago and Lima.

The 3 weekly flights from GRU Airport to Los Angeles International Airport will be onboard LATAM Airline Group’s fleet of Boeing 777 aircraft with a capacity of 410 passengers configured in a 3-cabin configuration.
The airline’s 777s have 38 Premium Business seats, 50 Economy+, and 322 economy seats. Below is the schedule for the new route:

LATAM Brasil currently operates five routes to the United States, four of which are from São Paulo. From São Paulo, the airline flies to Orlando, Miami, New York, and Boston. The fifth route is from the northeast city of Fortaleza. From Fortaleza, LATAM Brasil has five flights scheduled this month.
Not only is LATAM adding new routes as part of its joint venture with Delta, but the airline is also increasing frequencies on other routes between South America and the United States. Beginning in August, LATAM is increasing the following routes:
- GRU-MCO – four times weekly
- SCL-LAX – five times weekly
- LIM-MIA – 17 times weekly
- LIM-JFK – 12 times weekly
- LIM-LAX – 14 times weekly
