SpiceJet revealed a new compensation plan for its captains, raising their monthly pay by almost 55% to Rs 7 lakh for a total of 80 flying hours.̊
“The pay for captains has been increased to INR 7 lakh per month for 80 flying hours. SpiceJet has been updating pilot pay on a monthly basis; the increase for October 2022 was 22% ” On Wednesday, a SpiceJet spokeswoman stated.

Beginning on November 1, 2022, the revised compensation will be in effect.̊̊
SpiceJet’s captains’ pay will now be higher than it was before the Covid acquisition.
The pay for trainers and senior first officers has also “commensurately” increased.
Employees of SpiceJet had previously complained that the payment of salary to workers, including flight crew, for the month of July had been delayed and that many of them still had not received Form 16 for the fiscal year 2021–2022.
SpiceJet said that the base pay for pilots has been rising steadily.
Trainers’ salaries increased in September compared to August by up to 10%, while Captains’ and First Officers’ salaries increased by up to 8%.̊̊

For Captains and First Officers, the compensation increase was further 22% as of October.
However, SpiceJet has placed 80 of its pilots on a three-month, unpaid leave of absence.
The airline firm previously stated in a statement that “The action was taken to synchronise costs temporarily. This action is consistent with the airline’s philosophy of never terminating a worker. even throughout the covid outbreak.”
